Susan Phelps is the Economic Development Manager for Nash County, NC. She has led and coordinated business, commercial and industrial development projects throughout the County since 2017. In addition to the recruitment and retention of business, she is devoted to workforce development efforts that serve her community. Before working with Nash County, Susan was the Special Events Coordinator for the City of Rocky Mount, Tourism Development Director for Granville County, and Area Sales Manager for Summit Hospitality. A native of Oxford, NC, Susan received her Bachelor of Science at North Carolina State University in 2010 and a Masters of Public Administration from East Carolina University in 2022. Susan also received her Certified North Carolina Economic Developer credential in 2024. She has called Nash County home for 10 years with her husband, Tim and sons, Grant and Luke.
