A Nashville, NC native, Robert Bass brings over 35 years of manufacturing leadership experience to the Twin Counties region. He currently serves as Assistant Plant Manager at Astemo in Tarboro, NC.
A proud graduate of Northern Nash Senior High, Robert went on to earn degrees in Agriculture and Engineering from North Carolina State University, followed by an MBA from Duke University. His career began at CDC (now Cummins Rocky Mount Engine Plant), where he advanced from Manufacturing Engineer to Director of Machining during his 18-year tenure. He later served as Vice President of Engineering and Quality at Torpedo Specialty Wire before joining Astemo in 2012.
Beyond his professional achievements, Robert is deeply rooted in his community. A former Scoutmaster for BSA Troop 5, he has remained active in local schools and youth programs throughout his sons’ education. He and his wife recently celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary and are proud parents of two Northern Nash graduates (classes of 2019 and 2022).
