The UNC School of Government’s ncIMPACT Initiative announced in June a collaborative to an inaugural cohort working to better align their education systems with the needs of their regional economy. STEP was made a part of this collaboration and is excited to embark on this two-year intense project.
The mission of this project is to increase the number of individuals with postsecondary degrees, credentials, or certificates of value in the workforce. Giving the students in Nash and Edgecombe counties more opportunities for experiences and knowledge about post-secondary education options. Many students do not know the endless possibilities available to them after high school other than just college or university and it is within the mission of STEP to help students find these opportunities.
