Executive Director of DEPC since its creation in 1993 and was instrumental in the establishment of the organization. Under her leadership, DEPC has diversified its funding streams to increase flexibility in serving families, established a network of family resource centers and crossed the kindergarten divide, serving children from birth to age 8; ensuring that children are not only ready for school, but experience success in school and in life once they are there. Her belief that the work of DEPC is “for every child,” is walked out through community collaboration and grassroots leadership that crosses the divides of race, class, culture, gender and geography. 

Henrietta is originally from Philadelphia, PA and is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts in Amherst with a BA in Political Science. She holds a JD from Northeastern School of Law in Boston, MA. After completing law school she worked as an attorney with Legal Services in Rhode Island, Vermont and North Carolina, specializing in Education Law. Her work was focused on representing low income students and families to help them get the education they needed to succeed.
